Home Learning

In Reception class we encourage parents/carers to contribute children’s experiences at home to Tapestry. This often supplements our evidence of children’s attainment in school.  Every half term, reception children take home their chatterboxes. The chatterboxes allow children to build positive relationships and also develop their communication and language skills. Each half term we will encourage children to add things to their box around a specific focus which is linked to the areas of learning.

In Key Stage One children are set home learning each term to link with their topic in school. The teachers provide a video on Tapestry for the children to watch, explaining 20 tasks that they could complete, linked to all areas of the curriculum. The children can then choose 10 tasks to complete. We encourage children to complete their tasks in a number of ways (drawing, writing, creating, photographs, videos etc) and for parents/carers to upload a photo of their work to Tapestry. They can add a comment explaining if the task was completed with adult support (A) and or independently (I) and with any further details necessary.
